The forest and wood products and bioenergy industries face many difficult market, environmental, logistical, inventory and management issues as they navigate a long supply chain from the forest to the market:

Founder Pete Stewart faced many of these challenges in his work in the industry. He founded Forest2Market in 2000 out of a sense of frustration with the lack of transparent, neutral and accurate market price information available to the industry. He started the business by building a stumpage price database. Our innovative suite of solution-driven products now includes price reports for stumpage and lumber, price forecasts for stumpage, wood basin supply and demand assessments and benchmarking services for delivered wood raw materials and lumber traders. In 2011, Forest2Market launched a recovered paper benchmark to its suite of products.

Forest2Market collects real-time market data to exacting standards of completeness, timeliness and accuracy. We accept transaction level data—never survey data—from industry participants throughout the supply chain. All of our data is collected discretely and disseminated anonymously; experienced foresters evaluate every piece of data. Data contributors agree to periodic audits to ensure data quality and integrity. All reported prices meet anti-trust guidelines.
