The South received the highest total of payments, with $76,098,886 or
nearly 45 percent of the national total.

The Northeast came in second, with $46,250,858 or 27 percent of the
national total.

The West was in third place, with $30,778,743 or 18 percent of the
national total.

The Lake States and Appalachia were the only other two regions to
receive payments, with $13,462,436 and $3,845,364 respectively. Suppliers based in Missouri
garnered $676,602.

Note: For the purpose of confidentiality, the USDA did not report data for states
with fewer than 4 contracts or with fewer than 4 facilities.
