Forest2Market Launches Market2Mill for Recovered Fiber Industry

Forest2Market, a provider of wood and fiber supply chain expertise, announces the launch of Market2Mill, a suite of services for the recycled fiber industry. Initial offerings include monthly price reports and quarterly cost benchmarks.

Market2Mill is the first transaction-based market pricing service for recycled and recovered fiber. Reports and benchmarks are segmented by geography, fiber grade, consumption volume, and source type. Geographies covered include six regions in the US: Pacific, North Central, Southwest, Midwest, Southeast and the Atlantic States. The report covers OCC and DLK, but will soon expand to other grades.

“Demand from China, seasonal supply restrictions and concerns over quality are all putting pressure on recycled paper buyers and suppliers,” says Suzanne Hearn, Manager of Marketing and Sales at Forest2Market. “Market2Mill is a pressure valve of sorts. It will provide high quality market data on pricing and volume from which buyers and sellers of OCC and DLK can assess their performance against the market and develop forward-looking pricing strategies.”

As with all Forest2Market products and services, subscribers to Market2Mill will submit their transaction data electronically, and Forest2Market will aggregate that data and report it back to subscribers anonymously.

In addition to Market2Mill, Forest2Market offers three additional lines of products and services. Forest2Mill includes stumpage prices for timberland owners and delivered log costs for wood and pulp and paper manufacturers; Mill2Market includes weekly price reports and benchmarks for buyers and sellers of lumber; and Forest2Fuel provides delivered pricing, indexing and resource studies for wood bioenergy companies and their suppliers.
